Bonus Bonus Quilt -

I’m Jeri Langman, the 2008 Project Manager and Beekeeper.  This is only my fifth year in the Bee but I feel like I’ve known these wonderful ladies for forever.

I live in High Springs, Florida with my husband Ron and our great Airedale buddy, CH. Stone Ridge MyMan Bentley, CGC.  I’m the office manager for our Business Brokerage firm (which means I’m a “jack of all trades”… )

Bentley is our first Airedale Terrier and what a great representative of the breed he is.  Of course, getting Bentley from puppyhood to the great loveable bear that he is now is part of the reason I’m in the Bee.

When we first got Bentley, his exuberance was beyond my realm of dog parenting.  While I had raised many a Schnauzer, many Dobermans, my most recent dog was a fantastic Australian Shepard – Smith’s Truckin Magoo.  Going from most laid back, naturally wanting to please Aussie to an Airedale Terrier – what was I thinking? Sally Schellman from Sunshine Airedalers was my saving grace, she helped me with training, recommended the right groomer, got me in Sunshine Airedalers and then I found ADT-L  - what an eye-opening experience.  Now I realized that it wasn’t that I couldn’t parent right – I had to learn how to parent an Airedale.

I then read about the Quilts, marveled at their construction, was overwhelmed by their beauty.  I looked at each block in detail, I couldn’t believe how clever and talented the ladies were to be able to create such beautiful scenes from mere fabric.

I’ve sewn clothing all my life – almost to the couture level but because of my dyslexia, could never understand the mathematics of quilting.  When I saw a link on Sidney Hardie’s website www.airedaleterriers.org – “join the ADT-L Quilting Bee” – I thought “do I dare” – I can’t quilt but maybe I could help with other stuff.  So I emailed the Bee, they accepted me to help with non-quilting stuff.  Little by little – I got braver and braver, did a small square here, a small square there…. And now I am one – a quilter in the ADT-L Quilting Bee.

Being in the Bee and working with these talented ladies has been so wonderful, they are the most caring ladies – working so hard to bring these quilts to life – they are inspiring!  They share, care and love!  It is the best of all worlds.

It’s been another great year for the ADT-L Quilting Bee.  This year’s quilt – “Day in the Life” has been talked about for years and has finally come to fruition.

Go – enjoy the quilt, read about each block
