Sam (Samson) who is 4 1/2 years old, was an owner relinquishment. He'd lived his entire life with his family at a marina/resort but due to some insurance issues revolving around a commercial business, the owners decided to surrender him to Airedale Rescue. It was extremely hard for the owners to part with their beloved Sam but they knew he would find a good forever home thru the Rescue organization.

When we learned of Sam and saw him pictured on a boat, we thought he might be a good fit for us as we are sailors and wanted a companion with on the water experience for Lilly. After a lot of emails and phone calls to learn more about Sam, his personality, temperament, etc, I drove from Arizona to Missouri to meet him. I took Lilly, our first Airedale, who was one of the Arizona 19, with me to see how she and Sam would get along. Within an hour of meeting Sam and having Lilly romp with him, I knew he was the perfect Airedale to join our Aire family. Lilly fell in love with him immediately and told me secretly, that if I didn't adopt him, she might attempt another walkabout (she is our escape artist). Well, that cinched it! He came home with us and has been teaching Lilly the ins and outs of Airedale antics ever since.

Our two romper roos constantly keep us laughing. I had never seen tuckbuttruns until the two of them began to turn our yard into butter (remember the tigers running around the tree in Little Black Sambo?) Now our once perfectly graveled desert landscape has dirt tracks and we are constantly scooping wayward gravel out of the pool, but to watch Lilly and Sam play is worth every rock that has to be removed, swept, raked, etc. And every long mile to Missouri and back was worth the trip. He is a wonderful dog and a great brother to Lilly.

Thank you Airedale Rescue for your caring commitment to rehome these dogs.
