Addy came into Airedale Terrier Rescue of Virginia through a Virginia animal shelter. Someone had left her tied to the door of the shelter before they opened. She was about a year old and very skinny and malnourished at 72 pounds. Her fur was matted and she had probably never been groomed. It looked like she was probably bred; who knows what fate befell those poor puppies. Addy proved to be too much for most Airedale people because of her size. Enter the Covert Family, Addy's guardian angels. They took her in as a foster and she worked her way into their heart and they adopted her. There is not a luckier dog on the planet. It's not everyone who is willing to take on a big, adolescent Airedale! The Coverts adore her and have taught her some house manners and the joys of being an indoor dog. Addy is now a healthy size and weighs in at just over 90 pounds. Many thanks to the Coverts for opening their home and heart to an Airedale in need.
