If you don't want a vacuum chasing Airedale, don't turn it into a game. To a dog, the movement of the mop, broom or vacuum is a matter of  chasing the prey. If you participate, you will train her to chase the vacuum.

I don't find the game amusing, so if my dogs (puppies or adult rescues that come into the house) start barking at, chasing, etc., the vacuum, everything stops and they get to go sit in their crate until I'm through vacuuming. It has never taken more than a couple of times before I can vacuum around the Airedale bodies while they completely ignore me. In fact, I have to order them to move so I can vacuum where they are.
