Artist's comments:

This square depicts Maggie and Oliver, our two well loved and very spoiled Airedales, watching the beginning of a new era (aire-a to Airedales and their owners). Both Maggie and Oliver are Rescue 'Dales. We don't know anything about Maggie's background but she rallied against the worst of odds to be with us, surviving an awful skin cancer, heartworm, and severe malnutrition. She's an older gal with the heart of a lion and we're delighted she came into our lives in December of 1998. Oliver is a gentle giant, a real Southern Gent. He came to us from Georgia in September 1999. We know he had a less than caring home, infested with so many fleas and suffering from allergic reactions to the numerous flea bites, his coat had to be completely removed. He has bound back very well, with a wonderful coat, and is showing that clownish, Airedale personality. It is an understatement to say these two have taken total control of our hearts and our home! There is truly no other dog like an Airedale, The Finest Animal On The Planet!

Artist's bio:

Maggie & Oliver live peacefully with our indoor only cat, Trixie. Besides stitchery, I spend my time at home attending to our 3 new koi and their fish pond (new 'hobby'), the endless container gardens of herbs, flowers, and this year peppers! We watch and try to imitate Emeril, HGTV is a must!, Lowe's and Home Depot *are* our weekend haunts, and sometimes we're seen out with friends throwing darts.

(Judie wrote the very funny description of how much time it takes to make a quilt block )
