I am not a quilter, but an Airedale lover. Our first Airedale was given to me 36 years ago from a friend and I’ve been smitten with them since then. 14 years ago I stumbled upon Airedale rescue and it changed our lives dramatically. One huge part of being involved in Airedale Rescue has been the people I’ve met and the varied opportunities presented to be able to support Rescue throughout the world. The Quilting Bee is one of those rare groups that allow me to use my art talents and give back to Rescue in a big way.

We have adopted 5 Airedales in the last 14 years and fostered several. At the moment we still have Annie, our first foster who came to us at 7 months old and will be 14 yrs. old in July. Also, we have Toby, an Airedale boy, who we adopted last December. As a surprise, we also have Buddy a Wire Fox Terrier. He was only going to be a foster as I was helping out a friend who does WFT rescue here in Michigan. Buddy loved our cat, bonded with Maddy our Airedale who died from HS in November, so it was very hard to give him up. After loosing Maddy suddenly last November, we decided to keep Buddy as part of our dwindling pack. I can’t imagine ever being without an Airedale in our lives.

By trade I am a graphic artist and my dessert in life is painting in oils. My website is: www.pattyeisenbraun.com. Between volunteering for rescue and other groups, enjoying my grandchildren and painting I’m not going to be bored.

When the Quilting Bee asked me to do the drawings for this year’s ABC quilt, it was something I jumped at. How rewarding to be part of this project from the discussions to seeing finished squares and most of all, working with a great group of Airedale lovers.
