Hi, my name is Amy Marino and I live in Buffalo, New York with my husband Vinny, my son Ryan, our Airedales Henry and Augie and 5 cats, Bambino, Bocce, Luciano, Biscotti and Espresso. I first got involved with Airedale rescue 4 years ago when we got our first Airedale, Henry. We then adopted Augie from Airedale Rescue of WNY. I volunteer for Airedale Rescue of WNY by doing home visits, placing Airedales, short term fostering, transport and working information booths at various events. I got interested in the quilt a few years back after admiring the beautiful work done by the fiber artists. I decided to give it a try and have since done a square for the last several quilts. Each square I do I feel my technique and sewing skills improve.

This quilt I chose to sew the “Bedtime Block” because many days I come home from work and find Henry or Augie in that exact position on my bed even though they both know they are NOT allowed on the bed!  When they dream I always imagine they are dreaming of chasing a cat or a squirrel so I used that in my block also. I enjoyed sewing this block and I only hope that everyone who looks at the pictures of this quilt can appreciate the hard work that all the volunteers do to put this entire venture together year after year. To see the quilt in person is unbelievable and the craftsmanship is beautiful!
