A good dog died today,
He was quiet when he went and he lived the same way.
A good dog died today,
Saved by Airedale rescue in Nevada where he was a neglected stray.
Sam died today,
He would push your hand with his head for some pets;
He was timid and never learned how to play.
Sam died today,
He was never really strong, always quite sick,
In his heart I hope he knew no other dog would we pick.
Sam crossed Rainbow Bridge today,
He met Jake, Peppy and Duke and someday,
If God lets me cross that bridge,
That's where I will stay
With the dogs that I love and forever we'll play.
