Dee Marino and her husband, Tom, live in
Lansdale, PA. Dee and Tom adopted their first Airedale,
Chelsea, from Joey Fineran of the
Airedale Rescue and Adoption of the Delaware
Valley in 1984. The Marino household has been
blessed with Airedales since that time. In
August 2006,
Dee and Tom became a foster home
for the Airedale Rescue
and Adoption of the
Delaware
Valley organization. Dee and Tom have fostered
26 rescue dogs.
Dee has been sewing since junior high school and
has been supported in various sewing endeavors (sewing
clothes, window treatments, and
slipcovers) by her grandmother and mother.
Dee’s grandmother and great-grandmother were
avid quilters and Dee loved watching them create
beautiful quilts from the myriad of cloth blocks
that were always present in their sewing room.
Although Dee has done several quilts for family
gifts, the Cin-Dale-Rella block is the first block
that Dee has made for the Airedale Quilting Bee
group. The incredible design by Gena Booher was
truly a delight to finish in fabric.
The photo includes our 1 year-old Airedale, Juno
and 3 foster dogs (Ricky, Leia and Savannah) who
were living in our home during the construction
of the Cin-Dale-rella block. |
