"Did you see that?"

Ryan is our third aire-boy we have adopted.  He was 16 months old and came from Missouri.  Vivian Durbin-Fox did a great job of matching him up with Duffy our second aire-boy adoptee.  I laughed when I saw pictures of him because his legs were so long.  After 9 1/2 hours of traveling, our oldest son and I picked him up in a McDonalds parking lot near Columbus.  What a sweetheart...all the way home he leaned his head on Josh's shoulder, (begging for french fries!) and giving sweet kisses.  When we arrived home, against my wishes, the house was filled with friends of our sons wanting to meet the new addition.  Ryan walked into the house met Duffy and promptly made his way to the couch, stretched his long body out and fell asleep!! He was home!! He has been with us since Jan. 2004, his hobbies are play biting Dad, spying on any flying object, (as you can see in this photo)  and loving children and anyone who pays attention to him.  When we go for walks he thinks everyone wants to talk to him! When we arrive home from running errands, etc., he greets us with what we call "squinshy" eyes, he's so happy to see us he can hardly open his eyes!! Too funny!!

Duffy is the alpha dog, he came to us from the Mansfield, Ashland area of Ohio at 9 months of age.  He loves Ryan and tries not to show it!!  This poor guy was found running the streets by the dog warden.   At this time a couple from the Ashland area had contacted Sandi Sprankle wanting to know more about adoption.  Some red flags went up during the interviewing process and Sandi kindly rejected their request.  In the mean time Sandi was sending some one in the area to rescue Duffy, but much to her surprise this couple got there first and took him home!  I can't remember how long they had him, but I know it wasn't too long.  You see, they had a house full of antiques, wooden floors and a 9 month old Airedale puppy, plus no fenced in back yard and NO experience with the breed!  They promptly called Sandi and she called us!! End of story!

We are "emptinesters" now and these boys are our ....... need I say more!
