It is with a heavy heart that I report this morning that the Gran Dame of the Frances Martin Pack was lifted from her earthly confines and began her journey to the Rainbow Bridge. Our tears of loss are flowing because we will miss Angel, this dear airedale girl who constantly reminded all the old and new pack members of who was in charge and gave the marching orders.

She arrived at the Martin household 3 yrs ago when Frances was contacted by a Tulsa Vet who found Angel tied to his dumpster having endured a particularly fierce overnight winter snow storm. No worse for the wear, both spirit and body thrived while living at the Martin house. In recent years, age related illness slowed her down a bit, but did not change the pack order. Angel and Bridgett had issues, as would be expected, but at the end, differences were peacefully resolved. She never had a quarrel with Gabby. Angel, Benjamin, and Stuey played often and she barked at foster airedale boy Darby and the foster Scotty boys to pay attention.

Recently, Frances saw signs and knew that Angel had not been feeling well. She had stopped eating, saw the vet yesterday and this morning, back at the vet's office, Frances and the vet decided that it was time to ease her suffering. We know she will be healed of all her suffering and this brings us comfort, How blessed we are that she came into our lives.

Airedale Information

The ATCA Rescue & Adoption Committee maintains and updates a network of contacts across the country to aid in the re-homing of purebred Airedale Terriers who are lost or abandoned. These contacts are volunteers located in several states, as well as Canada, working to help Airedales in need, adopting them to permanent loving homes.
