  After losing my best friend and companion of 9 years, Henry, I adopted Monty from Northwest Airedale Rescue in October 2009. He's 8 years old and has severe hip dysplasia. But you would never know that if you met him. Aside from a little swagger in his walk he's a happy and active Airedale Terrier. Thanks to the generous support of NW Airedale Rescue and National Airedale Rescue Monty was able have much needed hip surgery. The operation, called an FHO removed the end of the femur bone on his rigth leg. There is no hip joint anymore. But Monty is pain free. His left hip is a mess. His femur is dislocated from his pelvis. But at this point surgery is not warranted. He's learned to walk again and gets around remarkably well. Please consider supporting Airedale Rescue. Without their help Monty would probably have gone to a shelter and been euthanized. Thanks to Airedale Rescue and other breed rescue organizations thousands of dogs are fostered and placed in loving homes. And consider adopting your next dog from a rescue organization.
